Hardship Fund

We are very aware of how the cost-of-living crisis is affecting day-to-day life for our families. We want to do all we can to support our children and families, and have worked with Ark and various charitable organisations to establish a Hardship Fund. We will be engaging with prospective donors over the upcoming months and years to grow and maintain this fund.

Families are able to apply to this fund for financial support with school meals, uniform, extended learning, and existing debt. Each application will be considered, and in many cases we will arrange for follow-up meetings with families who have applied so that we can discuss your situation in more detail.

In the Spring 2023 round, we were able to help families in the following ways:

  • 119 pupils received 80% funding towards their school meals for the Spring term, using £6720 from the fund.
  • 235 pupils received trip payment support using £7523 from the fund.

In the Summer 2023 round, we focussed on the cost of uniform.

We were able to offer financial to support to all 109 families who requested it. This was to the value of £75 per Primary pupil and £150 per Secondary pupil.

We are currently fundraising for the next round of support.

If you have any questions about the Hardship Fund, please email parents@kingsolomonacademy.org
