King Solomon Academy is one of the best Sixth Form choices in London. Our school exists to ensure every single one of our students is able to achieve the highest possible academic outcomes and go on to study at the best universities in the UK and beyond, or on a degree level apprenticeship of their choice.

Located in the heart of central London, right next to Edgware Road tube station and a few minutes’ walk from bustling Oxford Street, KSA is a truly metropolitan Sixth Form. Our Sixth Form is the final step in our all-through school journey. Some of our students have been with us since they were two years old in Nursery but we are always delighted to receive strong applications from highly motivated and ambitious students from a range of backgrounds. We have pupils joining us from across London, and Internationally too.

KSA is a small school, where we know each and every student extremely well. Our teachers are exceptional graduates from the best universities in the world, achieving extraordinary outcomes in their subjects for our students and supporting them to enjoy a wide range of extra-curricular activities, university visits and residential trips to Bath University in Year 12 and Berlin in Year 13. Our Sixth Form offer includes a wide range of A-Levels, and BTEC Extended Diploma in Business. 

Most pupils are expected to take three courses with BTEC extended diploma counting as the equivalent of three A levels. As A levels have moved to linear assessment and university offers are for three subjects, students are encouraged to focus on excelling in three subjects from the start. Each course is taught over six, fifty five minute lessons each. Pupils are expected to at least match those hours in independent study. 

Some pupils also choose to study for additional qualifications, such as the EPQ.

Students follow courses that last for two years. At the end of Year 1 there will be internal examinations in A level subjects. These exams will determine students’ suitability to continue into Year 13 and will also be used to produce predicted grades to be sent to universities. BTEC students will sit two external examinations in Year 12 that do count towards their final grade – both exams must be passed for students to receive their qualification. All external exams for A level subjects will happen at the end of the second year of study and make up 100% of the final grade (except for History, English and Geography which have a coursework element). BTEC students will sit another two external exams in Year 13 alongside their coursework units.
