The annual Vitality Westminster Mile happened on the 26th of September, and KSA dominated it!
Upon the day the energy was buzzing with small conversations happening, then; ‘3...2...1 HOOT’ and we were off. Dodging and racing past people. Someone in a fluorescent pink t-shirt taking the lead and... he was gone!
Music played keeping the atmosphere lively and jubilant, constant encouragement keeping us going, cameras flashing and clicking. Then I saw it, the finish line. Me and Ms Connell sprinted for the last 50m and it was over, we finished! Medals and water awaiting.
As a student at KSA I strongly believe the Westminster Mile is worth doing, and I will be doing it again.
With roughly 500 people running, our KSA representatives smashed it!
Mr Gilder – For the win finishing in 1st overall
Ms Mayers – Took a fantastic 2nd among women
Mr Ebulu – With a strong finish in 7th
Mr Bragg – Securing his 27th place by flying through the course
Mr Kikamba- An amazing end in 34th
Ms Connell and yours truly – Finishing back-to-back at 99th and 100th
Miss Hayat- Was gracious enough to let us go ahead of her, despite suffering some technical issues coming in at 106th
