During the first weeks back at school, children in Years 1 to 6 were given the opportunity to apply for a number of leadership roles, including school councillors, class and reading ambassadors. Applications for roles were read by year team staff and successful applicants then gave speeches to their class before every child could cast one vote. These new recruits should be very proud of themselves for achieving these roles and must remember at all times that they are leading the way as role models for other pupils. Please congratulate the following children when you see them proudly wearing their badges.   Every class has:

  • A School Councillor (Year 1-Year 4), called a School Leader in Year 5 and Year 6;
  • A Class Ambassador;
  • Two Reading Ambassadors;
  • Nature Leaders;
  • A range of other roles agreed between pupils and class teachers

Class ambassadors

Class ambassadors must be able to model exemplary manners, confidently greet visitors and explain the learning take place in a lesson, as well as expressing appreciation on trips.
