In September 2021 King Solomon Academy started the provision for 2 year olds. We are excited to build relationships with our families from a young age, building the foundations that will help our pupils to be happy and nurtured in the nursery years.

Our 2 year old provision aims to:

  • Provide a loving, caring and safe environment for your child to grow and flourish
  • Be based in our brand new, specially designed nursery building, with direct outdoor learning access
  • Incorporate Forest School curriculum, led by our inhouse Forest School teacher
  • Integrate carefully into our 3 year old, 4 year old and Reception curriculum

Admissions to 2 Year old Nursery

Pupils who will have turned 2 years old by September 1st 2022 can apply to join us in September. The application form is still open although we allocated places on 1st June 2022, we are now operating a waiting list in accordance with our admissions criteria.

If your child is not yet 2, you can still apply as we will likely be able to offer additional places at the start of each long term in January and in April.

The current waiting list will be re-ordered on September 6th ahead of January places being allocated on 31st October 2022 (communicated on 1st November) and then April places will be allocated on 28th February 2023 (communicated on the 1st of March 2023)

Places are available in the following format:

  1. Local authority funded places (for lower income families)

Places are only available in school term time. These places are available for families who qualify for funding. These places are available in the morning with drop off between 8am and 8.30am and pick up at 11.30am, 5 days a week during term time. Parents taking up these places can also pay for extra provision to stay for lunch until 12.30pm. All costs are outlined below in the costs section.

There is also the option of bringing your child 4 days a week only (the day not being in nursery must be Monday or Friday) and joining lunch session for at least three days (these must be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with the option of a fourth day paid if desired). Finally, there is the option of putting a child in the LA funded place three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday for the full day, with the additional hours being paid in addition. The costs of this are outlined below.
