Year 2 Seaside Trip

Monday 24 June 2019

On Thursday 13th June, the three classes of Year 2 (Edinburgh, Durham and Roehampton) set off for the seaside. After a coach ride full of excited chatting, we arrived to find a bright sky and an almost empty beach. Everyone loved paddling in the sea, burying the teacher's feet in sand and some children even wanted to bury themselves as well! Some children made sandcastles, others hunted for seaweed and lots of children gathered shells. A highlight for many children was playing in the nearby water fountains before getting totally dry and heading back to school. Despite the earlier weather forecast, the weather was dry for all the time that we were on the beach.

What an enriching experience for the children!
