Year 5 Ragged Museum Trip

Tuesday 08 October 2019

Last week 5 Norwich and 5 London visited the Ragged School Museum in Mile End, where they took part in a re-creation of a Victorian school lesson. In the lesson, the children wrote on slates, sat at individual desks and were not allowed any talking. Using their individual slates, the children had to copy down the alphabet and calculate some answers to arithmetic questions. When the lesson was over, the teacher showed us some of the punishments that would have been used in the Victorian era like the back straightener and dunce hats! 5 Le Mans will be visiting on Friday 18th October.
