Year 13 Destinations Success 2021

Tuesday 10 August 2021

KSA Sixth Form is once again celebrating a set of amazing Year 13 destinations.

Our Class of 2021 have faced unparalleled challenges in the last two years. Despite working remotely at home for a large portion of their time in 6th form, we are extremely proud of their resilience and hard work which has enabled them to secure outstanding offers from top universities. Their belief in aiming high has meant that our Year 13 students have been able to progress to some of the best universities in the country. The vast majority of Year 13 will be going to their first choice university and all have a confirmed place for September.

We are delighted to say that currently 88% of our students will be going to a selective or better university and 14% of students will be going to a super selective university (one of the best universities in the country). Our universities this year include UCL, LSE, Kings, Warwick, Cambridge, Loughborough and Queen Mary.

As ever, KSA students have pursued a wide range of courses, reflecting their individual passion and the huge amount of thought they have put into their university choices. Students are going on to study scientific subjects such as mathematics, Engineering, Physics with Astrophysics, Accounting and Finance. Others are going on to read a range of arts and social sciences including Liberal Arts, Law, Business and human, social and political sciences.

Alhosiney is going to Birmingham University to study Mathematics. He says: “I worked for four hours every day on my Chemistry and I’m pleased that it paid off. I’m excited about a new life in Birmingham and particularly excited about travelling outside of London”

Hanae, the recent Head Girl, is going on to read Language, Culture and Society at LSE. She says: “I want to understand about languages and people so that I can help to change systems. I’m looking forward to new people and new topics. My top tip for KSA students is to reach out when you need help. The people around you will help you more than you know”

Azizah is off to study Social Sciences at Sussex University. She says: “I’m looking forward to my degree because it includes psychology and some of the subjects I’ve done before. I’m really excited about expanding my knowledge”

We are exceptionally proud of Sheymae who has secured her place at Cambridge University to read Human, Social and Political Sciences. She says: “I’m so grateful to my teachers, parents and community for giving me this opportunity”

Thank you to all of the Class of 2021 for showing such dedication and stoicism during this exceptionally tough year. We also thank our amazing teachers who spent hours ensuring that all students were awarded the best possible grades in these circumstances and had rigorous evidence to back this up. Thank you to the teachers that sat with students on results day and supported them in phoning universities and securing their university places. The class of 2021 really do reflect the KSA values of aiming high and will lead the way for our younger pupils to aspire to similar outcomes. We look forward to welcoming them all back to school in due course to recognise and learn from their achievements.

Well done Class of 2021!
