Reception Admissions
Parents with children who will be 4 years old on 1 September 2024 should apply for a place in Reception for September 2024 entry. By choosing King Solomon Academy for your child you are placing them in an all-through school with an automatic place in primary and secondary. The first five years of education will take place at the Younger Years Site (on Crompton Street, W2 1ND), which has extensive outdoor space including a large exclusive use early years outdoor play environment. They will then automatically transfer to the Older Years Site (Years 5 to 13) where they benefit from a broad curriculum offer and specialist facilities. This all-through journey means your child can thrive in one ambitious and joined up community over the whole of their education. Reception applications are made through Westminster Admissions. The deadline for applications is Monday, 15th January 2023. If you would like to make a new application, for example if you have moved into the area after this deadline, you can still apply for a place.

Nursery Admissions
The admission policy for Nursery is here: King Solomon Academy Nursery Admissions Policy 2021-24.pdf
A brand new, spacious and well-equipped nursery is now open on Younger Years site (at W2 1ND) and our new cohort of 2 Year Olds started in September 2021. All local parents of 2 and 3 year olds including those eligible for 3 year old 30 hours working family funding are welcome to apply. Our nursery provision will be supported by dedicated leadership and fully qualified staff, all working within the wider King Solomon Academy team.

Although our main entry date for 2 Year Olds and 3 Year Olds is in September, we also accept mid-year applications for Nursery, once children have turned 2 years old. For details of the funding and costs associated with 2 and 3 year old provision, please visit the Nursery section of the website here. Please note that a nursery place at King Solomon Academy does not currently automatically guarantee a place in Reception.

If the nursery is oversubscribed, priority will be given to students with Educational Health Care Plans where the school is named on the plan. Otherwise, places will be allocated as follows:
- Where spaces are for 3 year olds, pupils who qualify for 30 hours working family funding (see below)
- Children who are in public care
- Children of staff of the school where there is a demonstrable skill shortage
- Children who have a sibling who already attends the school and who will continue to do so on the date of admission (for this purpose “sibling” means a whole, half or step-brother or -sister resident at the same address). Please note, a sibling attending the nursery does not count.
- Children of staff of the school (where there is no skill shortage).
- The remaining places will be allocated children who live closest to the school, using a straight line distance from the main entrance of the academy to the main entrance to the child’s home.
We offer full time nursery provision wherever possible, as we believe this best prepares our pupils for primary school. As the government provides nursery funding dependent on parents’ employment status this will be taken into consideration as part of the admissions process in the following way. We reserve the first 35 places in the 3 Year old Provision in September for parents who qualify for the government’s 30 hours working parents full time nursery funding. These places are for families where either parents (or one parent in a one parent family) work at least 16 hours a week, and have an income below £100,000. In the event we have more qualifying children than places available, we will apply our admissions criteria above, and any remaining children will be considered for the remaining places. The remaining 35 places will be reserved for all other parents.
Please submit this electronic form by Friday 21st April 2023 at 9am. We will inform you of the outcome in writing by week beginning Monday 8th May 2023. Any applications received after Friday 21st April will automatically be placed on our waiting list.
