The University Preparation Curriculum
The University Preparation course at KSA Sixth Form is geared towards supporting students to succeed on their journey to university and into the working world after their time with us. Not only do we provide advice and guidance on how to apply to university, with weekly tuition on the UCAS process, but we also provide sessions which aid students’ understanding of what life is like after school, ensuring that they are honing all the skills they will need to flourish once they leave us. Students are allocated a Student Progress Tutor at the beginning of the year who becomes their key source of support throughout their time with us at KSA Sixth Form. The SPT delivers both group and one-to-one sessions with students once a week, following a specialist programme designed to equip all Year 12s and Year 13s with the knowledge, skills and expertise to access the best universities and courses for them. Access to frequent support, advice and guidance has allowed so many KSA alumni to succeed at some of the country’s most competitive institutions.
In their first term, Year 12 will engage with several sessions planned to help students bridge the gap from GCSE to A-level with success. For Year 13, the focus in our first term is the UCAS process and ensuring all students are applying with the very best personal statement and reference to help secure excellent university offers for them.
