The Honours Programme
Students who have exceptional prior attainment at GCSE will be placed on the KSA Sixth Form Honours Programme. The Honours Programme students will meet as a whole group after school on either Tuesday or Wednesday from 4-5pm. This is the time these students will meet with their designated SPT (The Head of Sixth Form) and work on the SPT and university preparation activities for the week.
Honours programme students will have the GCSE results to apply to some of the most highly selective universities in the UK and internationally. The honours programme will prepare students to apply to these institutions by covering three key areas:
- Understanding elite academic institutions and how to apply
- Excelling academically at A level and achieving an A* grade
- Wider academic reading and research
Honours programme students will be expected to complete the mini-project that comes from their FOUS sessions and wider interests. This mini project will be a deep academic investigation with a concluding extended essay that could be turned into an EPQ over the summer. Students will also be on at least one university support programme in Year 12 and attend a summer school over the summer.
