What else is there beyond the academic curriculum?
We don’t just want our pupils to be academically ready for life after school. We want you to be ready to go out into the world and lead it!
On Tuesday afternoons, all sixth form pupils will engage in the KSA leadership programme. We will all be leading programmes in KSA primary, middle school or outside of the academy, supporting our local community. You may be interested in planning and facilitating academic tutoring sessions for younger pupils or you may come up with your own club or team for a particular sport, for art, drama or music. You may be more interested in leading a different group of people in our community by volunteering at a local charity or visiting elderly neighbours. For some of our pupils, you may want to join the cadet forces instead. All of these volunteering programmes could also count towards your Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Sixth form enrichment
Sixth form enrichment on a Wednesday afternoon will offer a range of sporting activities and competitive matches including opportunities to try out sports you may not have been able to try yet.
Sixth form music
We treasure our music specialism and would be delighted to welcome budding musicians of every ability to participate in music at KSA in our sixth form. Check out the music tab for more detailed information here.
Other extra-curricular opportunities
Whichever subjects you study at KSA sixth form, we hope you’ll continue to love reading, writing and speaking for different purposes and audiences. We’d love for pupils from all A level courses to join our English Literature pupils in our staff/student book club.
We’ll also be going to the theatre regularly – so sign up in the Upper School Commons for a place each month.
KSA pupils will be responsible for writing, editing and distributing their own newspaper or magazine.
Interested in debating? Politics? Geography? Join the Model United Nations team and compete against other schools locally, nationally and hopefully internationally!
Interested in entrepreneurship? Starting your own business? Join Young Enterprise where you will start your own company from scratch including CEO, Treasurer, Secretary… the whole business. Work out how to turn a profit and compete against schools and colleges across the UK.
Organising social events is a great way to learn a lot about the administration and communications around events planning and delivery. There will be a team of pupils responsible for ensuring KSA social events are a regular success!
