The School Day

Arrival and dismissal times

Gates open in the morning at the following times every day:

Infant School 8:20am – 8:30am

Junior School 8:10am-8:30am

Middle, Upper and Sixth Form 8:10am-8:20am

 

Pupils are dismissed at the following times on the following days:

Mondays – all dismissed from 2:55pm

Tuesdays and Wednesdays – Reception to Sixth Form dismissed at 4:00pm

Thursdays – Reception to Year 9 dismissed at 4:00pm, Year 10-Year 13 dismissed at 3:00pm

Fridays – Reception to Year 11 dismissed at 4:00pm, Sixth Form dismissed at 3:00pm

Nursery gate opens for dismissal at 3pm Monday-Friday.

The school day begins from 8:20am and finishes for all pupils (apart from in Nursery) at 4pm Tuesday-Friday and at 2:55pm on a Monday.

Exceptions are on Mondays when Lesson 7 doesn't happen and pupils are dismissed early, and on Fridays when Enrichment starts at 2.30pm and DEAR and activity are replaced by a lesson.

Sixth Form

At KSA Sixth form our timetable has the following format: 

  • Morning meeting takes place 8.20am-8.35am 

  • School finishes at 3pm on Monday, Thursday and Friday and 4pm on Tuesday and Wednesday 

  • Break runs between 10.25-10.40am 

  • Lunch runs from 12.30pm-1pm or 1pm-1.30pm 

  • 6 lessons of 55 minutes for each of your subjects 

  • Between 4 and 10 sessions of independent study depending on if you take 3 or 4 subjects 

  • All students have two lessons of ‘VESPA’ (Vision, Effort, Systems, Practice, Attitude) time each week. This focuses on university preparation, opportunities and academic guidance. 

  • Volunteering opportunities will be timetabled to take place within independent study sessions 

  • All students are matched to a sixth form leader who will check-in with them about their academic performance on a tri-weekly basis to match the assessment cycle. 

  • Tuesday and Wednesday 4-5pm is for subject Office Hour support
