SEND School Offer

introduction

At King Solomon Academy we believe that every child should be valued and we strive to recognise the variety of talents that our children have.  We believe in setting challenges for all our pupils and also supporting those children who may need a little extra help in certain curriculum areas.

We have a variety of interventions such as 1:1 Phonics, Talk Boost, Nuffield Language and Speech and Language Therapy Programs which are tailored to the needs of small groups and individuals within our academy.

Please look at our updated Inclusion policy for further details.

We believe in quality first teaching at King Solomon Academy and that most children will be able to meet or exceed national expectations through our varied and stimulating curriculum.  However, we acknowledge that some children may require extra support.  For details of our offer for these children please see our School website.

In addition, if you have any concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to talk to your child's class teacher.

What is the Local Offer?

The Children and Families Bill Act 2014 requires Local Authorities (LA) and schools to publish and keep under review information about services they expect to be available for children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) aged 0-25. This is the ‘SEN Information Report’.

The purpose of the Local Offer is to enable parents and young people to find out more easily the services that are available in their area and how to access them.  The Local Offer will include provision from birth to 25, across education, health, social care and the voluntary sector.

Westminster City Council’s Local Offer

For Children and Young People between 0-25 Years with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) Westminster City LA have put together information to help you find out about all the services that exist in your local area.  See link below to the LA SEN Local Offer.

King Solomon Academy School Offer

This utilises the Local Authority SEN Information Report to meet the needs of SEN pupils as determined by school policy and the provision that King Solomon Academy is able to provide. King Solomon Academy’s School Offer is outlined in the Information Report below and is in the form of questions and answers.
